COGS has arranged for a limited number of homestays for out-of-town conference attendees. If you are interested in staying with one of our members, please indicate that on your registration form. Preference will be given to those who register early and those traveling from the furthest distance.
If you are not interested in a homestay, or if we do not have enough to accommodate all conference participants, COGS has reserved a block of rooms at the Iowa House Hotel. It is located on campus, and it is within walking distance of all conference proceedings, as well as downtown dining options. Additionally, the rate includes free parking in one of the campus parking garages, and there is NO TAX on the room!
To reserve a room under our hotel block, call 319-335-3513 and ask for the “Coalition of Graduate Employee Unions/CGEU” rate. It is $70/night. The block of rooms and our rate will be held open only through July 10.
Note: While the block of rooms we reserved is no longer available, the Iowa House still has rooms available the weekend of the conference (as of July 19). This hotel still represents the most economical option close to the conference proceedings, particularly when you factor in the free parking.
