UE Young Activist Organizing Drive

To further its mission of organizing the unorganized, UE is recruiting Young Activists across the country for an intensive one week union organizing drive to bring the UE message to non-union workers who would benefit from forming a union at their workplace.  Local 896 COGS and UE will sponsor two 896 members to organize workers full time in Eastern Iowa the week of May 13-17, 2013.  Activists will visit job sites and workers’ homes, conduct small group and one-on-one meetings with workers, and contribute to campaign strategy.  Organizing training, transportation, and a stipend of $450 will be provided.  To apply, please submit a resume and/or a brief one page statement detailing your organizing experience, union involvement, and why you would like to participate in this project to [email protected] by April 26, 2013.
